How far is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from Harvard University? I never realized that both of these institutes are located near each other. It came to my knowledge recently, so I am looking for all available commute options.

The Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology are located at a distance of 2 miles. Students can go from one institute to another using different means of transportation. The distance isn’t much, so people can use a subway, bus, bike, or walk, depending on their convenience.
The longest time to go from MIT to Harvard is 40 minutes. You’ll take this much time if you’re going for a walk. There is a possibility that you will reach it in less than 40 minutes if you have a good walking speed.

Subway
The subway is the cheapest option from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to Harvard. You’ll reach Harvard in only $1.
The total time taken by the subway is around 26 minutes. You can opt for this option if you’re not running late or don’t have a strict schedule.
Bus
If going to Harvard from MIT is a part of your daily routine, you should take the bus. The Line 1 bus takes around 22 minutes to reach Harvard and costs $1 to $5. If you miss the first bus, you can wait for the other one because the buses keep coming after every 14-15 minutes.
Walk
Walking from MIT to Harvard costs you nothing but takes almost 40 to 45 minutes. The time depends on your walking pace, but it won’t be less than half an hour. If you like walking, you can skip all other options and walk for 2 miles.
Taxi
Taking a taxi from MIT to Harvard costs around $10 to $13. Although you’ll reach in less than five minutes, the cost is three times more than other options.
Hence, these four options can be used for traveling to Harvard from MIT or MIT to Harvard. Check the reaching time and cost before going for any of these options.
