A total of 15 students were enrolled as the first batch to get education and knowledge that can be implemented. MIT has been known for teaching and preaching since day one.
The five schools and academic departments work beyond limitations to bear the world’s challenges. If you want to apply to MIT, continue reading the article to remember important dates. You can also learn about the application process below.
Dates To Remember For MIT
Everyone is always worried about missing the dates for MIT because you can apply only once per year. The deadlines have been divided into Early Action and Regular Action. Applying during any of the cycles is fine because the purpose is to focus on each application individually.
No preference is given to any student applying in the Early Action or Regular Action cycle. The only benefit of applying during the Early Action cycle is that you can explore more options. I’ll get to each one of the cycles separately for a better understanding.
Early Action (EA)
The Early Action decisions are announced in December. These decisions are non-binding, and the committee can offer or deny admission. All the deferred applications are reconsidered in March during the Regular Action.
The applicants willing to take early action will submit their applications by 1st November. You’ll have to submit all your essays, information related to academics and other activities. Moreover, you’ll have to submit two letters of recommendation from your science or math teacher.
Along with all the documents, submission of your transcript is important. After some time, a date for the test is announced. All the students are recommended to take English proficiency exams.
The students who apply in November will get all the updates and forms by mid-February. You’ll get your hands on your midyear grades as well.
Regular Action (RA)
The students willing to take regular action must apply on the 4th of January. Like the Early Action, you must submit all required academic records, essays, and general information. When done, submit two letters of recommendation from a language and science teacher.
Take your high school transcript and submit it as well. The English language tests must be taken by students who need to be proficient in the language. Hence, by the middle of February, you’ll get to know your midyear grades.
Students denied during the Early Action cycle are not eligible to apply for the Regular Action cycle. MIT expects everyone to obey and follow the rules.
Process To Find Out Dates
You must watch MIT’s official website to remember all the important dates. Browse the website and look for an academic calendar. You’ll get your hands on all the important dates for you as an applicant or a student.
The annual calendar is updated so students can keep track of upcoming activities. If you’re interested in applying for admission, look for the deadlines on the homepage. You will find the dates for the Early and Regular Action cycles.
Preparing all your documents and applying for admission as soon as the dates are announced would be best. You’ll have enough time to prepare for the next step.
